Delhi’s Lieutenant-Governor, V K Saxena, has recommended a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The allegations suggest that Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party received political funding from the banned extremist organization Sikhs for Justice.
The complaint, filed by Ashoo Mongia of the World Hindu Federation, claims that the AAP received $16 million from the pro-Khalistan group. This funding was allegedly for “facilitating the release of Devendra Pal Bhullar and espousing Pro-Khalistani sentiments.”
Saxena’s recommendation to the Union Home Secretary emphasizes that since the complaint involves a sitting Chief Minister and pertains to political funding from a banned extremist group, electronic evidence presented by the complainant needs investigation, including forensic examination.
Additionally, Saxena mentioned a letter from Kejriwal to Iqbal Singh in January 2014, where Kejriwal stated that the AAP Government had recommended to the President the release of Professor Bhullar. The complaint also refers to a video released by Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, alleging that the Kejriwal-led AAP received $16 million from Khalistani groups.
