New Delhi: The three-day international conference organized by the Nepali Culture Council Committee concluded on a grand note in Karnavati, Gujarat, marking its successful completion on December 24. Distinguished personalities from diverse fields participated, engaging in discussions on cultural diversity and unity.

On the final day of the conference, notable spiritual leaders, Swami Bhagwat Priyadasi from the Swaminarayan tradition and Shri Prashant Swarup, addressed the audience. Both emphasized the significant role played by the followers of Sanatan and Buddhist traditions in raising awareness about the rich culture of Nepali Gorakhali society.

They highlighted the importance of cultural preservation, asserting that the awakening of the Nepali society and its commitment to cultural and religious values provide a guarantee for the security, peace, and harmony of the Himalayan region.

In their speeches, the spiritual leaders shared insights into the global initiatives undertaken by the Swaminarayan tradition, including the establishment of Swaminarayan temples worldwide. They also made a special mention of the construction of an impressive Swaminarayan temple in Dubai, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to global welfare, unity, and the eternal values of brotherhood and love.

The conference, which commenced in November and extended until the end of December, witnessed in-depth discussions by experts on various topics. The closing session was presided over by the founder and patron of the Nepali Culture Council Committee, Mr. Indresh Kumar, who delivered a heartfelt address, stressing the importance of mutual support and social cohesion.

The participants of the conference were presented with a token of appreciation, including a statuette symbolizing unity, reminiscent of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This gesture aimed to underscore the significance of unity in diversity and the collective efforts toward the welfare of the global Nepali community.

As the conference concluded, Mr. Indresh Kumar expressed gratitude to all contributors and outlined plans for the World Comprehensive Council scheduled for 2024. The event is expected to focus on global welfare and will be dedicated to the cause of Lord Shri Ram, coinciding with the inauguration of the Shri Ram Temple by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22.

In anticipation of this auspicious occasion, millions of Nepali Gorakhali families gathered, lighting diyas in almost every temple, engaging in prayer, and chanting the “Shri Ram Jai Ram” mantra 108 times to express their devotion.

Dr. Kamlesh Shastri presided over the concluding ceremony, while the Central and State Secretaries of the committee, Rajendra Shivakoti and Dikendra Paudyal, managed the proceedings. The occasion was also marked by the presentation of a memento by former Foreign Secretary of India and Darjeeling resident, Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, on behalf of Darjeeling Welfare Society and the committee.
